Intermediate Bookkeeper

The Intermediate Bookkeeper leads in updating and accurately maintaining client financial information and working collaboratively with clients. They find the best solutions for clients and act as a business partner.  Regular functions include monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, record payments, adjustments, and government filing.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients

  • Set up and maintain financial records using a computerized bookkeeping system

  • Ability to prepare and submit tax remittance forms for HST, EHT, WSIB, and payroll remittances

  • Understand and prepare payroll with various pay types (ie. salary and hourly)

  • Reconcile various types of accounts, (ie. credit card, bank) of books

  • Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books

  • Enter supplier invoices and prepare cheques for accounts payable

  • Reconcile accounts payable to vendor statements

  • Enter customer invoices and apply payments for accounts receivable

  • Applying payments for accounts receivable

  • Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports

  • Support the team with training and development

  • Stay current with technology

Skill Set and Education Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping

  • Advanced QBO certification

  • Proficiency in various accounting software, ie. QBDT, QBO, Xero, Sage 50

  •  Understand and experience with various Fintec Apps ie. Hubdoc, Receipt Bank, Shogo, Plooto

  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple client files

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize functions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with staff and clients

  • Desire and ability to continuously learn
