As a result:

Be a graduate of a University Accounting Program or equivalent
-
Have successfully completed CFE
-
Have 2 years of experience in a public accounting Firm
-
Have Advanced knowledge and application of general accounting principles (GAAP), IFRS, ASPE, ASNPO, and Canadian Auditing Standards

Have the ability to proficiently draft client documents from templates

We believe in using technology to its fullest, so demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, with the ability to create advanced formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, sum ifs, and data analytics, and proficiency with Caseware, CaseView, Jazzit, and Taxprep.

You will be responsible for:

Independently prepare working papers and financial statements for Audit Engagements, Review Engagements, and Compilation Engagements
-
Completing the planning tasks for Review Engagements, including planning memo, planning forms, time budget preparation, etc.

File completion for Review Engagements, including the guide and relevant checklists and budget to actual analysis
-
Completing the required note disclosure and year-end letters for Review Engagements, including engagement, independence, representation, legal, etc.

Completing difficult Review Engagements with little to no guidance
-
Acts as an in-charge, in leading engagements; including planning out field work dates with the clients, and proactively coordinating the communications between the teams, clients, consultants and managers/partners.

Independently preparing the complex sections of an Audit Engagement

Independently preparing level 3-4 corporate tax returns

Promptly identifying significant audit or accounting issues for discussion with the Manager, Senior Manager and/or Partner

Poses credible solutions to issues that have been identified; including write-up of memos for the file and preparing working papers required accordingly

Conducting a self-review of own working papers and financial statement prior to submitting to Manager
-
Conducting reviews of the team’s working papers prior to submitting them to the Manager
-
Delegating sections of the file to junior staff members based on their knowledge, experience, and capabilities and ensures that staff are properly supervised during completion of each procedure
-
Preparing detailed budgets for assurance engagement files and ensuring that the budgets are adhered to accordingly; Any deviations from budgets are to be discussed with managers and partners accordingly

Coaching staff by providing support and development and by conducting performance evaluations, if deemed appropriate assurance practices at the firm

Other duties and special projects as assigned
