As Senior Accountant - Enterprise, you will work from our Markham office and have the opportunity to coach and develop less experienced team members. You are required to lead Compilation Engagements while meeting the Firm's high-quality standards and provide technical expertise for Team Members who need support on their client files or specific questions from their clients.


  • As a result, you must have a university degree in accounting and your CPA.

  •  You need to have worked through complete Compilation Engagements and tax files in a public accounting firm setting, have excellent knowledge of Canadian Income Tax and have a thorough understanding of GAAP/GAAS, ASPE, CAS, and CIS.

  • This technical knowledge typically comes with 3-5 years of working experience.

  • We believe in using technology to its fullest, so being a wiz with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Proficient with Tax prep Suite, CaseWare, DT Practice is super important.

You will be responsible for:

  •  Independently compiling, completing and reviewing working papers and financial statements for all Compilation Engagement documents to be issued to clients, including working papers, financial statements, planning documents, notes, attached schedules, management letters and tax returns.

  • Providing constructive feedback of working papers and Review and/or Compilation Engagements and offers guidance and direction to Team Members to support their growth and development

  • At the invitation of Partners, attend the Review and/or Compilation Engagement final meetings with clients to observe and contribute towards discussions as appropriate.

  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and more efficient tax treatments for corporate and trust tax returns and brings them to the attention of the Senior Manager and/or a Partner.

  • Completing compliance review of prepared corporate and personal tax returns, including preparation of income tax slips and filings, including T4's and T5's.

  • Implementing tax engagements while meeting the Firm's quality standards.

  • Providing technical expertise, coaching and guidance to Team Members who need tax support on their client files or specific questions from their clients.

  • Preparing tax plans and compliance related reports.

  • Preparing client correspondence, including reports, discussion of technical issues and recommendations

  • Updating DT practice with all project information and preparing interim invoices, as required.

  • Coaching team members by providing support and development and by conducting performance evaluations, if deemed appropriate.
